ABOUT HUW

Huw is an aspiring leader and a communications expert specialising in stakeholder engagement and campaign planning in the Public Health sector. He’s been a theatre producer, director and performer in London; a gym manager, social media manager for the Vaughan Gething campaign for Welsh Labour Leader and spent 2019 as Communications officer for the British Lung Foundation in Wales.

He started 2020 with a brand-new adventure joining Public Health Wales where his main focus would be the European SHARP JA for International Health Regulation and preparedness. Huw has since played an integral role in the PHW COVID-19 response making use of his extensive stakeholder engagement experience and helping deliver the How Are you Doing? well-being campaign.

Huw continues to provide support for the annual LGBT+ History month event at the Senedd and is part of a small team that runs Heads Up; the informal network for leaders and those interested in social change. He is also a co-host of the Flatten the Curve podcast and a member of the the steering committee for Fast Frack Cities Cardiff.

Huw is passionate about public health, sustainability, LGBT+ rights and youth development. In September 2020 Huw also returned to education; commencing part-time studies for a Masters in Applied Public Health at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
